I haven’t posted in a while, aside from replying to comments. So here’s an update on how things are going.
I wrapped the main storyline of Ugly last night (technically it was this morning, about a quarter after midnight). I think it’s come out well, but we’ll see what my sanity checker thinks in the near future.
That means that I’ll be going through Aneka’s fifth book for the next couple of days doing revisions and a first editorial check. Once that’s done I should be able to set a release date. Watch this space.
Also with that done I’m intending to write a new Thaumatology book, but I’ll be honest and say I’m well into the world I’ve created for Ugly. It may be that I end up swapping between the two worlds for a bit because I’m really pretty keen on both.
They’re going to have to wait a little, however, since the weekend after next I’m going to the London Super Comic Con. If I’m really honest, I’m going because Elias Chatzoudis is going to be there, and he’s one of my favourite artists at the moment. (Seriously, if you like comics, or even Doctor Who, has DeviantArt portfolio should make you giggle, maybe drool too.) I’m also going because I haven’t been to a Comic Con in years; since when City of Heroes had a support team in Brighton, in fact.
Technically that’s a weekend off, but knowing me I’ll spend a load of time in my hotel room writing, or I’ll go out researching locations for Ceri and Lily to visit in their next story. It’s a weekend away from the norm though; always a good thing to get away from when you think you’re a writer.
